Botox And Dysport Q & A

What is Botox?

Botox is the world’s leading injectable treatment for temporarily reducing the appearance of frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. The formulation used in these aesthetic applications has been used in medical applications for many years and has been the subject of numerous studies and research efforts.

Botox is made from a carefully controlled volume of a neurotoxin called Clostridium botulinum. Botox prevents those muscle fibers from going through their full range of movement when injected into targeted facial muscles.

You’ll still be able to make normal facial expressions, but the treated muscles won’t be strong enough to pull and tug your skin into lines, wrinkles, and folds.

What is it like to get Botox injections?

It takes multiple injections to treat forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines. You may feel a slight pinch as the needle enters your skin, but there’s no significant discomfort associated with Botox. If you’re concerned about the injections, ask if a topical numbing cream can be applied before your treatment.

There’s no need for any form of anesthesia or advance preparation to have Botox treatments. There’s also no need for any recovery or downtime after your appointment. The entire process usually takes less than 15 minutes, and you’ll be back to your normal routine in no time.

Concierge members can receive Botox treatments during house calls. If you are not a concierge member, ask about having Botox performed at home for an extra fee.

How long will my Botox results last?

It takes 24-48 hours for the effects of Botox to fully develop. You can expect to enjoy your results for around four months. You’ll start to see your lines, wrinkles, and folds slowly returning, and you can decide if you’d like to extend your results with a new round of treatment.

It’s important to understand that there’s only one form of Botox and no generic options. If you’re considering Botox, dermal fillers, or any other type of injectable aesthetic treatment, be sure to work with a medical professional to ensure optimal and safe results.
