Am I A Candidate For Fibroblasting?

Do you wish to revamp your skin without surgery? Fibroblasting is a revolutionary treatment using a Plasma Pen™ — a handheld device used to kickstart collagen and elastin production for dewy, radiant skin. Read on to find out if you’re a candidate.

You might have had smooth and supple skin when you were twenty years old. But as you’ve gotten older, you’ve started to see wrinkles, large pores, and sagging skin. Do you wish to revamp your skin without invasive surgery or harmful products?

Fibroblasting is a revolutionary treatment using a Plasma Pen™ — a handheld device used to kickstart collagen and elastin production for dewy, radiant skin. If you’ve never heard of fibroblasting before, read on.

Southern Secrets Medical Spa, located in Conroe, Texas, is here to explain everything about fibroblasting and if you’re a candidate.

Activating fibroblasts for renewed skin

Fibroblasts are a type of connective tissue cell found in various tissues throughout your body, including your skin, tendons, muscles, and blood vessels.

Fibroblasts play an important role in wound healing and tissue regeneration. As we age, various factors influence the behavior of fibroblasts, leading to undesired changes in the skin’s appearance and structure that can lead to wrinkles and sagging skin.

How treatment works

Fibroblasting is a minimally invasive technology that smooths and tightens your skin by targeting fibroblasts with plasma — a hot, gas-like substance. The gas produces a cloud of charged ions that releases electromagnetic radiation to promote cellular turnover. By using this heat energy, we create a micro-injury to your skin to activate fibroblasts to regenerate skin for a smoother, younger look.

Fibroblasting can be used for:

  • Improving wrinkles and fine lines
  • Reducing skin laxity
  • Lessening the appearance of scars
  • Improving stretch marks
  • Correcting skin pigmentation

This nonsurgical technique is most commonly used on the face but can be safely used anywhere on the body.

Is it right for me?

Fibroblasting can provide radiant results, but deciding to undergo any treatment is a personal decision. Are you bothered by age-related skin concerns every time you look in the mirror?

If yes, you might consider fibroblasting. You may be a candidate for this cutting-edge procedure if you:

  • Have mild to moderate skin concerns
  • Are in good overall health
  • Aren’t prone to keloid scarring
  • Aren’t pregnant or nursing
  • Haven’t had recent chemical peels or dermabrasion

The only way to know if fibroblasting is good for you is by meeting with a skin care professional, like Andrew Martin, MSN-FNP-C

What to expect after your procedure

Depending on the treatment area, fibroblasting procedures can take anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours. You may notice some redness, swelling, and scabbing dots after your treatment. This is a normal part of the healing process, but these side effects generally resolve in a week.

As you continue to heal, you may notice your skin peeling and the scabbing dots fall off to reveal the new skin underneath. For optimal results, we advise you to not wear foundation or makeup on your skin until the scabs have fallen off — generally in 5-7 days.

Avoid sun exposure for at least a week after treatment and for the next three months, wear an SPF of 30 or greater to help prevent hyperpigmentation.

Results

The goal of fibroblasting is to stimulate and rebuild collagen for a more desirable complexion. While the results are beautiful, it’s important to note that they’re not immediate. Most patients start to see results after 2-3 weeks once the skin has healed and new collagen has developed for tighter and brighter skin.

If you have mild skin concerns, one fibroblast treatment may be enough to get the brighter skin you’re looking for. However, we suggest a majority of our patients undergo 2-4 treatments to get the most dramatic, and youthful results.
